How does this compare to your perception of somebody forming early readlists?
early readlists are at least done when each person has more than 1-3 messages

Which wasn’t true at the time, right. But individual townreads can still apply, and POEs can arise as a result whether or not they’re accurate. Most importantly, a POE doesn’t have to be correct to be in good faith; it’s just about the intent behind them.
