Butler ability gets a lot of dislike, yet it’s mild compared to Damsel and Saint for example.

Butler is fine for live play, but imo it’s logistically bad for online longform
obviously Damsel/Saint have the potential to be much more punishing to Team Good

Are all Vanilla setups inherently non-Bastard, or can there be a Bastard Vanilla setup that still counts as a Vanilla setup?

I think it depends on what you consider to be bastard
some people count Godfathers as bastard even if their existence is publicly known

not vanilla because it’s inherently non open/non semi-open, I think?

What if a list of all possible roles are presented? (I mean. Technically there will also be a mechanic that lets Vanilla and Goon know X-amount of roles not in the game each night… but I think this mechanic might be the reason this game is no longer Vanilla.)
