Hippo wanted a chance to confirm that you were hearing his voice. First, his main suspicion is Joe Mama (who?); and following up on that, he thinks Brakuren is either laying a bait by cc’ing, or he’s straight-up evil if he keeps it (although it’s worth noting that the latter is less likely due to Leafia spew. Yes, she’s still claiming to be good in the graveyard because of you. No, we don’t believe her.)
Hippo didn’t purify Frost because he was scared of the Sorc’s “Dark Portal” power. He softed Exo before he claimed; see posts #2553 and #2909 together. Someone could only plausibly see this if Hippo told them directly.
