I didn’t even realize. LMAO
Both are conditional and improved though.
Silviu needs someone to say the hexed word, and then gains control over that person.
You need your target to accept the invitation to your neighborhood.
Jailkeeper is a fairly common role for a reason, and tacking on Miller won’t devastate it unduly. Nonetheless, I’m not a major fan of Millers, unless there’s a good reason for them to exist in a game, because otherwise they imply there’s a powerful enough investigative out there to warrant a red herring. If that never becomes a factor, it’s just a standard jailkeeper. Can’t really complain.
Secondly, something you should know about me is that I’m a fan of Mafia Neighbourisers. The rolecop thing is more of a bonus, I guess, although having the recipient of your ability have a choice between accepting the neighbourhood or become a 1-shot fruit vendor encourages you to vet your targets carefully.
…Hmm. I guess my only issue here is that the rolecop/neighbouriser/gifter of fruit parts of Ruby’s ability don’t seem to tie together especially well. Balance wise, it’s fine.
Purple Goo just entirely depends on the rest of the setup, it’s really one of those dependant roles.
I really don’t like making investigative roles immune to death, and making it immune to serial killers specifically feels like a prank for the neutral in question. It’s my understanding that the actual setup didn’t include any serial killers, so I guess both problems are resolved and it’s just an amusing red herring for people who read into mechanics too much.
I think more roles could use activation / conditional abilities, but I wouldn’t necessarily agree with gating a protection behind limited uses or timing windows. I’m fine with JOAT abilities, but an unlimited investigative role (even one as delayed as Coroner) probably doesn’t need conditional death immunity anyway. It just doesn’t feel that cohesive, but maybe that’s a personal thing. The role is still perfectly balanced anyway.
For the record, I hate this template.
It has… so much unnecessary data.
Like, the only reason I am still keeping it is because I have plans to “use” it in a future setup.
