Tales of the Abyss - Town Victory!

It’s fine, you won’t get shafted yet.
Mr L is getting outta here today.

Hi, folks. BCT here, and I guess I’m a replica of Eliza (even though I am a he). I’m new to this place, being one of many GameFAQs imports that Chris (Achro) brought here. Please note I can OMGUS quite a bit, but I am aware of it (I’ve been told it helps show my alignment). And before you ask: Yes, my username is a reference to Tales of the Abyss and Tear’s Blue Crystal Rod. How apropos. I’m in a Mafia game with flavor from my favorite video game ever. It’s also awesome.

So, with that intro out of the way, and apologies for the wall of text, I’ve read about half the game, and not very intently at that since I was more concerned with figuring this site out. It seems as if Eliza did not claim, and I do not know if she was asked in my ISO of her. Please let me know if you would like that (I don’t know what the rules for claiming are here, but I did get the rest of them from the first post). I also have no opinion of that word search and merely interpreted it as a shitpost. Hazard was SK. He did not know who the scum team was. Give it a rest.

Before I try to logic anything together (WARNING: Overthinking later in this post), I wanted to say that I don’t like Zenon here; maybe this is just how she is, but she was giving short, blunt posts that didn’t actually say anything and weren’t helpful to solving the game. Sultan, as Ben said, always trips up and gives town tells early in the game. Last game I played with Sultan, he was scum, and I was a little nervous. Don’t get that vibe here.

From that first post, I notice that there were two Mafia Goons, who have both been killed, and two power roles from the randomizer. This is quite obviously bussing, Sulit was a goon, yet voted for Lefia right out of the gate, then backed off. So, to do the math, let’s look at this (italics = town):

Leafia (9): Prophylaxis , Achromatic , Hippopablompoyeetus, Zenon, Marluna , IfGodCouldDie , Garfooled, Magnus, sulit

And then this:

sulit (9): Garfooled, Lea, Marluna , Kiiruma, SultanOfSlam, Magnus, Frostwolf103, Prophylaxis , sulit

Sulit’s self-vote is irrelevant. May seems to have been the only one to pull out of this, but she didn’t vote for Leafia either. What makes me raise an eyebrow is that May unvoted when there were only 5 on Sulit. This does not strike me as town panicking that the day might end prematurely, it strikes me as something odd. My question is how would the remaining two scum vote strategically here, whether that be individual or as a team? Would Garfooled or Magnus (neither of whom I know) vote for two teammates on consecutive days?

Kiirumma you knkw youve been greenchecked so are dead tonight btw rip

Oh right! Let’s fucking GO.
I’m revealed to be a good boyo
Who definitely isn’t wolf who used a godfather ability

Achro was not the first person to throw your name out there. I believe I was.
This is just a quick response before I greet our friend, because I think Blue deserves a full post in answer.

For me personally you are most obvious town so sadly mafia will kill you

Hi Blue! It’s good to meet you here, in this game. Don’t worry about the wall of text, you segmented your text into paragraphs and that’s great. I’m happy to give you a broad rundown of what’s happened thus far.

This site usually doesn’t pay much heed to role claims unless they’re immediately relevant, so claiming won’t be necessary. Due to the setup formula, only certain roles can or cannot be in play depending on which other roles are in play, if that makes sense.
While it’s true that Hazard wasn’t informed of who the Mafia are, the SK was informed of all the power roles (and their alignments) that were in play. Hazard claimed to have attacked a bulletproof Mafia on the first night, when there was only one kill.

I mean, I seemingly can’t hide I’m town.
Achro knows too much

Welcome!
Here’s where I am at, the set up is supposedly Mafia Even Night Watcher, Town Cop, Tracker, Mafia Bullet Proof (if you believe Hazard) or Mafia Roleblocker
Frost looks bad because of (from what I remember) Magnus’s reaction test, where they claimed a red checked Sulit was their Mason partner and Frost instantly chose to vote Sulit without acknowledging Magnus’s claim and then pretended not to see it?

Before that, it was assumed that both SK and Mafia went out to kill Achro. Because why discuss the possibility that one of the attacks was missed, I believe I actually mentioned it myself.

That felt like TMI bcus we all assumed double kill yet you believed that there might be a role (Mafia BP?) That could’ve blocked the attack

While this is correct at a surface glance, would you say that Zenon’s intent is unhelpful? She capped her postcount halfway through D1, and was consistently suspecting Leafia all day as well. I don’t mean to disregard your read, I’m just trying to open conversation. Welcome to FOL.

Cool.

My first question is: do you know May?
Secondly, while I should not speak for myself (Leafia and Sulit were lost causes they were dead from the start of their respective death days), I can’t speak for Garfooled because I don’t know his playstyle as evil. I think he’s town, though.

VOTE: Frost

Hello CrystalTear, nice to have you here and along with other new arrivals I greeted before.

I suppose it’s good to know about Sultan that you know from your meta that this isn’t W!Sultan playing here. As for Sulit and Leafia, both were attracting attention from us town

Right, that was fun. Frost voted Sulit without acknowledging my mason claim, before going on to say that he had always known all along that I was a mason and that’s how he allegedly I was that role without knowing that I’d claimed to be with Sulit. He was extremely confused when that happened, and then later said he’d actually seen through my mason claim and was playing along.

And now they’re blaming it all on Achro, yup, not a good look

For the record, Achro agreed with my read that Frost’s opener was bad, and then he wrote a readlist before I could. That doesn’t mean that every player is just sheeping Achro’s read, it could just mean that everyone simultaneously concluded that Frost was suspicious.

I poked them with a stick, I did not like the response
They were being, dare I say it?
Democratic

Yeah let’s twist around the words I said, You have been malicious this game, you know that?

This you?

Essay by Garfooled

Democracy is often hailed as the best form of government. However, it is still a suspicious concept for many people. The reason for this suspicion lies in the fact that democracy is not perfect and can be easily manipulated by those in power.

One of the biggest concerns with democracy is that it can lead to mob rule. When decisions are made based on popular opinion rather than sound reasoning, it can result in disastrous consequences. Additionally, democracy can be easily manipulated by those in power who have access to resources and media outlets.

Furthermore, democracy is often associated with corruption and nepotism. Politicians are known to make promises during election campaigns but fail to deliver once they are in power. This leads to disillusionment among citizens and a lack of trust in democratic institutions.

In conclusion, while democracy may be the best form of government we have, it still has its flaws and limitations. We must remain vigilant against those who seek to manipulate it for their own gain and work towards creating a more transparent and accountable system that truly represents the will of the people.
