The Cyberiad Overhaul - GAME OVER - NEUTRAL VICTORY!

my opinion is, this setup was actually pretty good, the neutral made a perfectly well built mafia game, miserable and unfun

@SirDerpsAlot i also called that u hedged, in the thread multiple times

ohh well, u live and u learn

Like 3 different people were claiming Kiiruma was mech town and only one was a wolf. That’s a “don’t question until D3 or D4 lest ye be hit over the head by beancat” situation. And even questioning it on those days I was hit over the head by beancat

Actually yeah I’m fully in not my fault for not (publicly) questioning the mech clear more mode. Even if we thought it was wolfy there was not much we could do against thread

kiiruma’s claim only even remotely fucked over town, because the 3p existed, the game was locked if the 3p didn’t exist, this could’ve a town dub even though it took us 3 years to kill achro

if the 3p didn’t exist posion was probably holstered for mech lock

why would wolves with tmi push on kiiruma, if idot was a wolf, he busses their partner achro, than tries to kill Kiiruma? it makes 0 sense

In the last couple of years of hosting, I always put these things in the open. False flips (death miller?), no flips (janitor), false results (godfather) would all be described after I announce the game is Semi-Bastard. I never unannounce Neutral; “at worst” I will be ambiguous by saying “it may or may not be in the game”.

I recall Litten saying that my setups (or was it this setup in particular?) are usually player-unfriendly, and I have been trying to mitigate the unfriendliness by being open as much as I can.

I may not be able to completely “fix my nature” of making unfriendly roles (because I prioritize uniqueness over fun), so the least I could do is make friendly OPs. (And if people don’t read my OPs, then that’s on them. Skill issue.)

It still would’ve been beneficial to catch it earlier because we could’ve internally worldbuilt. And we could’ve stopped thread consensus if we questioned it more as it happened rather than coming in after the concrete was set… but we did that a fair bit and it was still set… hmm

Oh yeah what happened d1/d2/d3

Yeah, your OPs are very good in that regard of generally specifying what mechanics are on- or off-limits, IMO. Here it wasn’t spelled out that the neutral could be game-ending, but I think that was fine.

again this setup was good, u could’ve just removed the 3p, or maybe capped the poison at 2 or 3, and this game was fine

Hm… I would’ve called this [Indecisive “Carolling” Doctor], though I guess Eliza’s “Faith” would be a better name for it.

as far as i’m aware bastard in its purest form is a game that is not bound by the traditional mafia ruleset (including its own)

this setup was only miserable because the big mechanic which was the normalizer, died night 1, than the backup went afk and got lynched day 2

D1 we tried to kill Achro and the wagons ended up Frostwolf/Someone who I was townreading both of.

D2 we tried to kill Achro and he claimed cop and Zug still wanted to kill him but I was convinced there had to be some role we existed to back up, and hal died instead.

D3 we tried to kill Achro and he claimed 3P wirh a million role contradictions and all the wolves and the 3P and a villager piled on Psy instead.

D4 we tried to kill Achro and it worked.

cant do much about that lol

*looks at Whispers in the Mixtape; a setup that is not even listed in WIP list in the queues thread*

Riiight…
:eyes: :sweat_drops:

traditional rules like “your rolecard is real” “your rolecard is static” or “the setup rules will not be bent into a pretzel by the host”
