They were at a stand off and the government refused to give him the money. I think holding your ground is the more reasonable choice than giving in
Tutuu, you do realize that the government shutting down hurts a lot of people.
It forces government employees without being paid, and it sends every government entity into a holding position.

Werent they faced with the choice of giving in to his demands of giving him money that they didnt agree to, or shutting down? Shutting down is bad but wouldnt they be giving in to tyranny if they just gave him the money?
