Vote-a-Life - MAFIA VICTORY!

The way I am seeing, Sultan may be not a hit. Due to Jarek’s claim to be forced in voting against Sultan

Why trying to get chomps voted against after last day?

Also Kiiruma’s post is pretty NAI so its not damning as you may imagine.

Town even if lying.

again*

im not saying they’re tryign to vote chomps
id expect them to keep that option open to leave town in confusion

I would never

For the time being, I should place a vote.

Ishmael’s posts have been setting off alarm bells in my mind, and I think it is a result of her relentless contrarianism. That is, of course, not necessarily a wolfy thing. Most players, I would assess, are less contrarian as wolves, not more. However, the exact way Ishmael has pushed her reads has felt vaguely anti-town in structure and, to some degree, in practice. Her playstyle seems to focus primarily on undermining other players’ reads over building up new ones.

Here are some examples of what I mean:

In her opening post, she attempted to convince Leafia not to attempt to confirm herself with arguments I feel are faulty – at this point, Leafia would not be in your “town core” if she did not attempt to confirm herself, so why is it an issue if her self-confirmation eats a night kill? The wolves will kill somebody at night regardless – it is better to force their hands to make them kill a confirmed player than to avoid confirmation altogether. The anti-claim is a fair point, and is the reason I think there was genuinely cause for Leafia not to immediately attempt to confirm herself, but an extra vote is not the most dangerous thing in the world compared to a confirmed villager.

Similarly, this post takes potshots at both me and Magnus in a way that feels like it could come from a wolf hoping to avoid any one player being consensus town. Ishmael’s townreads are usually players she doesn’t seem to fear being consensus town.

There’s an undercurrent here of not clearing players.

The only townreads given without caveat are on lol and SirDerpsAlot, who aren’t in danger of being leaders who are impossible to misexecute.

She doesn’t even commit to the townread on Magnus.

This refers to beancat — again, it shoots down other players’ townreads and generally makes things easier for wolves.

Ishmael’s posting just feels like it achieves a wolf agenda rather than a town one. She never focuses on who to execute, she never lets anybody who is loud or talkative be cleared, she just shoots down other players’ reasons to townread people and gives vague townreads on slots that are suspected but not highly contentious. Townreading SultanOfSlam doesn’t do much, townreading lol doesn’t do much, townreading SirDerpsAlot doesn’t do much.

My one point of hesitation is that speaking against the SultanOfSlam wagon does somewhat increase Ishmael’s chances of being executed, but that wagon has been so stagnant, with one of the players being literally forced to vote there, that it does not feel too impactful.

I lied about the ability on sultan because it was funny

VOTE: Ishmael

you’re welcome everyone

Parallel, or do you restrict the main execution?

I absolutely still want to kill sultan though that’s no joke I’m seeing red when I think of sultan but ishmael looks so much more evil that I’m dropping this act to vote them

generally glaidators restrict the execution to 2 people yeah

The line at the top about “placing a vote” is copied and pasted from an older version of this post — I had written half of this case, realized there was something else I wanted to focus on first, and then finished it up just now.

this was in reponse to me misreading Magnus’s that i interpreted as calling a person with a whole ISO of 10 posts towny, Magnus then told me that i probably misunderstood him and upon a second reading i did realize what he meant to say

trying to pin that as “undermining town reads” is silly

Gotcha. I will duly prepare my laughter when two obvious villagers are gladiated with one another at dawn. :popcorncat:

Yes, but some gladiators cause a second execution between themselves and their target, making them effectively extra town killpower.

i restrict the main execution so you can only vote for me or the other person

hence why im less concerned about mafia’s particular anticlaim

Awesome thanks I’ll submit this guess right now
