everyone but katze imo did a great job with their thing. Those were all gettable.
Katze… tough luck

i would also put human as the average thing in size coz we are humans so humans is our own reference points. we compare everything to us if another reference point isn’t implied
WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO WITH AN 11 THERE
Why not say ‘An average human’
I said a ‘big supernova’
lol
Would you really compare the size of a planet or a dust mite to that of a human?
yeah
dust mites are tiny
why are they tiny?
planets are big
why are they big?
Where would you have ranked a human baby?
2 points smaller than human
Where would you ranked a baby blanket?
that wouldnt be easy to rank, but that would be a completely different game entirely, assigning points to a given word, which is the opposite of what we’re doing. i just wouldnt give a clue “baby blanket” for a size category
The issue is that using a “human” as a default reference doesn’t work when height and size are variable among living creatures, objects, land masses, massive voids, etcetera.
You are correct in principle, and yet your point avoids confronting the question.
idk saying “average” in my answer feels pretty cheaty
But then there’s nothing to use as a default reference at all, really. “Human” is the closest thing to a perfect reference point I can think of, besides “a meter stick”, which feels cheat-y. It’s the same reason I chose gouda cheese (unwisely) - picking a specific variety of cheese contextualises your answer within the category of cheeses, giving your team a reference point, and gouda is a pretty medium cheese.
Like, a planet is considered a large thing, unless a reference point of other planets is implied, then Mercury could be considered a small planet. A dust mite is small, unless a reference point of… I dunno, microscopic creatures is implied, then it could be considered large. I don’t see the flaw in the argument at all.
You will never be gouda
I would have picked way softy tbf lmao
Yeah, gouda was a bad pick because it’s super variable. I realised my mistake as soon as my team immediaty came in torn between answering ‘3’ and ‘16’. I spent no more than a minute coming up with it. I think I was hungry.
What’s something of medium softness? Cheese. What’s a medium cheese? Gouda. Submit. . Surely a recipe for a victory
