I’m just not really happy with the way things work normally that is wolves can say they don’t want the chat being released, without giving a reason, and the host not being able to or not thinking they should challenge it
I mean i think that just comes from the fact the host is not the people who are directly involved in the scum chat, and i do think that generally if someon3 says they dont want acum chat released they have a good reason. Im fairly certain there was a discussion at some point about either hydra/mafia chats not being released where there was something said about how you shouldnt be allowed to not reveal maf chats under the singular reason of not wanting people to read you for content in there bc ur then giving people who are in that scumchat an advantage, might be misremembering and i wanna say it came from after the first hydra vig 10er
in the first place it’s a flawed concept because security through obscurity is a bullshit concept and the entire thing falls apart if you just
play against someone who wolfed with you before and thinks the info they got out of that chat is worth sharing in another game

And yeah part of the reason it sucks is because it, relatively inevitably, leads to more he-said-she-said scenarios like this down the line

I think one of the main factors is that hosts don’t want to be The Villain and go against people’s wishes to keep things private - it can be difficult to be that person
I think it might help if, in one of those instances where the host doesn’t feel comfortable releasing it anyways, they can come to a moderator so we can talk to the players and resolve it in their place
I personally would be willing to do this
I think generally giving people time to delete/separate channels to get rid of but reserving complete non-release for actual exceptional circumstances where the personal content can’t be removed is a good compromise here.
…It’s why I originally had my Mayposting channels, but I ended up deciding I was fine with keeping those around.
