20000th poster gets a cookie (cookie thread (Part 7)) (Part 9)

really? like… now, season 2 episode 9, or did he not make it there

Some highlights from my dad’s show graveyard:

  • Arcane: “Very juvenile”
  • Severance: “It doesn’t seem to move at all.”
  • Bojack Horseman: “It’s ok. I don’t know why you like it so much.”
  • The Last of Us: “This is really depressing.”

He basically has a 5 episode rule if he’s not enjoying a show.
Only exception is The Last of Us, which he stopped watching after the big moment in the premiere.

I haven’t watched any of these either but I disagree with Ash’s dad

This isn’t even because I strictly think my longertime friends are necessarily better/closer friends, though as a function of time we usually know each other better, it just feels like an indignity to the person in question to talk about them to somebody I’ve known for less time. It feels like I’m saying I’m closer to the person I’m talking with it about, so I’d prefer to do that with somebody they won’t be as insulted by me saying that about

kinda a shame because 107 and 108 are imo the best episodes in the series… but if he didnt already like it by then, probably a good choice

Really none of it is an insult because if I’m sincerelt concerned about you that means I care. And talking about that isn’t gossip it isn’t an insult. But in the case that it’s taken as one I want my bases covered.

All of this is subconscious rather than intentional and I’m only analysing it like this retroactively

I personally think S2E7 and S1E9 are among the best television episodes of all time, but I’m afraid of gassing them up to him given how much I’ve already pushed him to finish the season.

Only time I’ve pushed him through a season of television was Mr. Robot’s second season, and that’s because S3 and S4 are substantially better (and the latter includes my favorite episode of television ever).

I’ve recommended Invincible to him, but he’s never been into superhero stuff, so he’s hesitant.

Ok, thinking on it now, I don’t know if I’d file “Proxy Authentication Required” as my favorite episode of television?
Need to throw together a list of episodes in contention.
