20000th poster gets a cookie (cookie thread (Part 7)) (Part 9)

now, knowing Nintendo, do I expect this to occur?

not really no

but if it does then imo an $80 game launch price is actually totally fine

when i popped into treehouse the chat was a riot over the prices

I think this was a decision made before the tariffs.

i dont hate an $80 price tag. i think its very high, but its unknown how much the cost behind the game

i do hate the $10 difference between the digital and physical copy, that just annoys me personally

NVM someone higher up in Nintendo was asked directly and described tariffs as a factor but ultimately it’s just because they think people can and will pay $80 for it.

the 450 for the console is, most likely

software shouldn’t have the same kinds of impacts in general, I don’t believe, and I have little to no doubt that MK World would turn a profit sold at 60 dollars, much less 80 digital/90 physical

it’s 100% just jacking up price because they can and because line needs to go up

Get capitalism’d I guess

the tariffs have been advertised for a hot minute, so I’m sure that was priced into the console

the question now is did they jack up prices enough lol

Nintendo and lowering prices is an oxymoron

I mean I find it reasonable in a world where its obviously a cost savings for digital, since physical objectively is way more expensive to make and distribute

its just there is no way MK World needs to cost 80 digitally :joy_cat:

its more annoying for me because I usually get physical copies for games

it has been historically, with games at 60

but if they’re going to 80 or even 90 physical, then I think there’s a lot more room for prices to come down

and if that happens then honestly that’s a win

this earnestly may make me reconsider
