Bland & Flavorless Mountainous 15er - Mafia Winnered

firstly i find it weird that may and otter have experience with each other but this dynamic in the thread feels extremely one-sided. like, otter spends most of their time talking about may and may only engages with their jokes about being an alt rather than otter’s scumread of her or even discussing otter’s alignment. she literally has no mentions of them outside of a joke and putting her as a townread in this post. it’s like otter keeps clinging to may and may just wants them to disappear, like she is trying to keep their engagements to a minimum almost intentionally (in this theory, out of fear of looking w/w). separately it’s just odd that may hasn’t given thoughts on the player they have experience with particularly when otter’s main content yesterday revolved around them, and their alignment has been a point of contention for most of the game

there’s also otter’s vote on magnus which i’m tinfoiling was a way of moving their vote from a partner to a villager:

like i said before, i don’t really buy that otter cared about making magnus answer arete’s question because they gave zero thoughts on his answer. likewise, they acknowledged his answer and didn’t move their vote despite the vote’s original purpose being served. if you look at otter’s content up to this point, the only read they had given was a scumread on may, and thus may was the only non-magnus vote they had justified, and yet they didn’t move back, which i think adds credence to the theory that this was just an excuse to move their vote, likely from a partner - otherwise they would have had no issue moving back?

this last point is probably just me reading into things too much, but the framing of the reason to suspect may feels significantly more toned down than, given their experience together, what i’d expect. like, the other scumreads feel intentionally prioritised over the may scumread which feels wrong given otter’s scumread of may yesterday

@May can you give me your thoughts on otter

fuck. maybe not actually

may had the perfect opportunity and justification to vote magnus at this point to push them more ahead of otter, which she probably just takes if w/w with otter?

it was 5 votes on magnus and 3 on otter at this time, with 10 minutes left. in a world where she hedged her bets that the votes wouldn’t change it’s technically possible to be w/w but i don’t think it’s particularly likely

in conclusion:

do you think what you said about Arete means anything for their alignment

i agree with what you’re saying on a level 0 read but i think the perspective of “X is solving from a world where i’m a villager” is something i find wolves don’t use very often beyond the basic “you’re tmi’ing me town” but this felt significantly more fleshed out than that

VOTE: otterpopd

i’ll be back tonight, may randomly pop in on mobile until then

Hey, about to head into class, but:

Idk about where May’s mind is at, but I spend a lot of time talking about them because they’re literally the only other person on the site that I know.

I did explain this earlier. I went to bed and then got busy. Sorry! I would’ve still kept my vote there, for what it’s worth, because it saved my own life

So, I specifically call out out of character behavior from May, the person in this thread who I know, and you say that it’s toned down compared to the people who I think just made bad plays? .

anyway i have some time before class starts- let me see if I can be productive.

Did eliza ever answer this?

This is may behavior. they just say shit. In the past they’ve described their deductive style as finding hills to die on and if people are like “that sounds like bullshit” then it is. In particular, in discord, May is known for making literally random votes using rng
In general getting weird vibes from Zorvo

like this? you’re trying to control the thread so wolves don’t? this smells of shit. this is a wolf excuse for making wolf plays on “behalf” of town. Not to mention the general abrasiveness, which is theoretically NAI but in general makes me want to not play the game with them.

Wolves would know who town is, so

I explained this earlier. I can be suspicious because of policy, because policy isn’t arbitrary. It’s not “i personally dislike this behavior” it’s “this behavior is objectively antitown”. even though I’m less sus of them now because it’s not really thought of the same on this site, this is a pretty common conclusion where I usually play.

If I was a wolf, I’d probably have left the kills to my partners, who by all likelyhood have a better handle on the relative strength of townies in this thread.

:person_shrugging:

I’d like to remind everyone that this is my first game on this site, that I’ve only ever played in a different format, and that that format was much looser, with more people that I know better and less structure. Sorry that I don’t have much to contribute. I’m used to making reads based on meta, with more information and less time. Everything is different for me in this game, and I’m slowly getting into the groove. please be patient with me. I know what I’m doing, but I need some time to adjust.

my read on Magnus was right for once (hurrah?)

neon kill wasn’t super unexpected
think she was townread a fair bit

I come back and there’s already more wallposts

There’s a difference between controlling and manipulating.

I’m trying to control it to help us make sure wolves don’t take off another ML.
I even said yesterday that I think you and Magnus were both town wagons and I wanted somewhere else but it never happened.

Yes but I made it very clear I town read them the entire time and explained my reasoning and again if you still have questions I am here for you.

Huh?
I’m saying “a little but still in town” is still a pocket read cause they have to lower you via Magnus Execution to not look too obvious but they do it in a way that still makes you pocketed. Of course you could both be wolves so.

OMG.
What does Eliza not being a wagon at EoD have to do with my point or holding any merit.

Ugh posts like these….

There kill had nothing to do with reads.
Neon usually has terrible reads, I know this from experience (no offence neon but you were HARD pocketed by SillyKitty and I see you push town more then not)
The reason Neon died is because conscious town read, nothing more nothing less.

Yep sounds like potential W/W theatre by Arete and Eliza.

Not really?
Who else dies in an Arete!Wolf world?

I read that wrong.

Also I am NOT allowing otter to be ML’ed for a back to back, FUCK THAT SHIT.

Huh?

morning, here for a bit before work

honestly I probably would have just gone for the Zorvo kill and tried to spin it as ‘oh he was pretty obvious town, probably no one was very correct’ but it would’ve depended on who my partners were

in my dialect opportunism specifically implies a wolf pushing a nonwolf, obviously sometimes people can make reads like that about pushes on people they don’t have a strong read on but in conjunction with her other posts today which were also making a similar assumption it seemed notable (although I was misinterpreting one of them)

+ Eliza hasn’t really reacted to or made a read based on my push of her whatsoever, most villagers tend to subconsciously omgus a little bit
.

not that I saw

Hi. So…

VOTE: Arctic

what does this mean?

@Zorvo
Why vote otter now when you said earlier they might be town?

Oh wait, I got confused LOL
