it subverted expectations
the plot was good
the characters were grounded and made sense
the powers given were balanced, yet the clearly strongest person was still Clearly The Strongest
the protag had more than the character flaw of being dumb
the supportive cast was fine
the villians were great

Assuming the Mez is in play, as storyteller you keep the Cult Leader good aligned so that there aren’t too many extra evils alive to upset game balance.
