I riichi’d for 0 tiles. I bet 1000 points that I would win on a tile that simply no longer existed. I bet 1000 points on 0% odds. This is a terrible move but I was in VC streaming to a friend and we were both cackling about it the whole time

This is part 1 of the story. This is fairly normal. The next hand, I get a chance to go for a really rare, really valuable hand. Normally I would not do this in this situation, because it is unlikely and it is a silly chase. My friend encourages me to do it.
I get very close to said hand. But all the tiles I need to win have been discarded.
