Cookie Thread Act 2: Silksong

having things to do is generally important in an animal. they need stimulated
what “something to do” means varies from person to person but whats important to remember is that is a single aspect. there is a list of things which all need to be ticked off and if anyone of them isnt everything sucks

If you take away my ability to accrue new things of interest
I will fucking die
First, my brain will be perpetually tuned out
Second, my schedule will crumble
And then the killing blow, my impulses start winning after I don’t take my meds

Alright, this might sound dystopian, but bear with me Atlas.

What if we had some sort of management step in and command people to become better?

it will break down, or it will become as dystopian as you claim

it dissapeared

Gone

the human psyche isn’t very strong
you can break someone in a year
if someone is trained
they have an infinite amount of trauma to do it for them

What if it’s an AI instead of a human management, as that could lead to corruption?

AI is way worse than human management

Not to police their lives, but to limit or reduce stagnation.

You’ve seen too many movies.
If we had an eternity

i’m sure the ai will love using that eternity to maximize paperclips

people will break the ai for disrupting their lives, and tie the people up who made them and sink them to the bottom of the ocean to be tortured until the sun collapses

or
it changes nothing

it’s not the movie bit
if you’re talking about way way down the line
I do think making suppositions about the limits of AI are very shaky given how rapidly the field is progressing

not but a few years back most people were still under the assumption that AI would enable people to pursue artistic interests as it handled the menial stuff
looks at writer’s strike

eventually people will stop listening
and if the thing telling them to do things is
emotionless and a program
they’ll snap quicker

how would it go about reducing stagnantion
