So much words.
First off, potential is a key word there; if you overthink things it certainly does become inherently more complex. However, that would require playing a way that the majority of the time makes it easier for the opposing team to PR hunt, which removes said complexity. They have different reasons sure, but the majority of the time, regardless of if those reasons are correct or not; the complexity is reduced due to having both an innocent child and additional mechanical confirmation on stronger players in the game.
Sure, it would be generally incorrect to solely rely on mechanical information and only mechanical information, but having said mechanical information as a safety net benefits the villager team to the point where, the lack of it adds complexity to the game within social reads. While the cop is alive, the game is easier on town, which therefor reduces complexity. It is much easier to rely on a role such as a cop to check a player like SPF without actually intending to find the players. A cop will not subconsciously or consciously attempt to put themselves in the middle of read lists nor should they arguably. It is cool that you have been N1d, but that does not add or reduce the complexity of the setup with the reason you stated you were N1d. You can be at the bottom of read lists, have god reads and get N1d for said god reads. And, if you intentionally skate / donât give reads, wolves can PR hunt you therefor. Itâs almost always best to just play normally as a cop. You can do a few things like FoSing your hypoclaim if you want to get fancy with it to try to spew yourself not cop, and it can work, but thatâs just one possibility that can exist in a mountanious game too. IE: Call a wolf read of yours, or a wolf lean of yours town as an expierment. Then NKA comes into play which adds to the complexity of the game as opposed to chalking up a kill to a PR hunt.
You can hunt PRs as a wolf, and Iâm not arguing that it is less complex for a wolf since itâs most certainly more complex. However, for the majority of the players the complexity is reduced with a cop as a safety net and thatâs a fact. Wolf or PR reads are exceedingly common, and itâs once again; almost always best to just ignore said reads and assume wolf given if theyâre a PR theyâre likely going to be outed anyways. All of the points brought up are countered by the simple fact that itâs just best to play normally. VTs have incentives to emulate PR play at the risk of spewing themselves VT which normally happens if youâre not experienced / skilled at it. In addition to that, things like this can happen in mountanious too. Except, in mountanious NKA exists for players which, still adds complexity to the game. The fact that wolves literally have to kill the cop or else theyâre just fucked N1, and if they donât manage to kill the cop the games complexity is reduced to such a point where you cannot, in good faith argue that it is less complex than mountainous.
PRs cant play as they do VT sure, but a good PR wonât end up outing themselves. Itâs similar to how a wolf doesnât paly the same way they do as VT. Theyâre not going to make blatant PR slips and they generally will settle in some fasion, even if theirs minute differences between how they play PR and VT. Some PRs know how to believable act when pressured, and some of them get more nervous when pressured instead of having this security youâre talking about. Infact, in my experience the majority of them get more nervous so confused where youâre pulling this from. People can believably interact with there peeks, they can FoS them and they can do everything they would normally do. It would be fake, but regardless just an FoS onto a peak of yours, presuming you hypoclaimed that slot isnât automatically clearing and is easily possible. You can argue that those reads would be ingenuine which would allow for PR hunting, but as mentioned prior, the fact that the cop lived till D2 with an alive peek is already enough to reduce complexity to the point which you cannot argue for it being less complex in good faith. Nobody is arguing you should act in the same way you do a villager as a wolf.
I admit there are differences in how players approach PR rands than Wolf rands, thereâs a reason why PRâs count as 5 points. But that isnât the argument, the argument is if it reduces complexity; which, the lessened burden on villagers certainly makes it easier than a game that soley relies on socials. Both less experienced players and more experienced players have an easier time in cop games as opposed to literally every other game type for said reason.
