Hide and Seek - Zugzwang and Atlas win!

From my perspective, multi-voting is a hedging strategy when you’ve narrowed things down between a couple of options: you spurn the opportunity of a higher score to get more consistent results. The main concern, as I understand it, is that people will do this en masse, and I think the benefits for this strategy fall off rapidly.

I’m gonna cap the number of ALIASes you can guess a player to be at three. It draws a solid balance of maintaining player agency while preventing things from becoming Survivor.

For unsubmitted ALIASes, I’m adding a penalty of 2 guesses if you don’t get it in before round start (you start with the assumption that you’ve been guessed correctly twice). If you don’t get it in by round end, then I assume that every living player has correctly guessed you.

My main concern is that I don’t want people to view not submitting as a possible strategy, but I also don’t want it to be a death sentence because accidents happen, and people have lives.

Both of these will only take place from Round 2 onwards.
Very much open to balancing both of these further.

nice! :stuck_out_tongue:

my only suggestion is to move the deadline from [end of round] to [earlier than end of round] for unsubmitted aliases for them to no longer count as penalty of only 2 votes

as it is it would be possible to game the system and submit it 1 second before the deadline and not give a chance for anyone to guess your alias while also following the rules

maybe … a few hours? im not sure how many

maybe 12 hours? other people should also have ample time to get their guesses in for missing aliases. so it would be a concern for time availability for non-late players too, not just the late players, if late players are allowed to submit way too close to deadline

i personally didnt guess at all until i got the missing alias since that changes the whole picture for me, so from my pov the round de facto starts when i get a list of all aliases, partial one could potentially mislead me

The problem with 12 hours is that it would be 2am for me, so I’d be asleep and only be able to announce it, like, six or so hours before end of round.
I’m considering setting it at around eight hours after the round starts, but that also feels like not enough time for the submitting player.

Ok, clarification:

Guessing yourself correctly does not count against you.

I guessed myself incorrectly for the lulz as well as in case it did. Just submitted my Round 2 alias too. Wonderting how many people if any guessed mine correctly as well.

Thank you Tutuu, Zug, Willow, Nerbins, Leafia, and Marluna for your participation in GLIP!

As the bylaws can no longer be carried out as a result of rule changes, GLIP in its current form is officially dissolved.

If somebody wants to start an alternative form of GLIP, feel free, but the current pact is over as a result of rule changes.

I don’t see any rule changes that could dissolve GLIP.

The very purpose was removed via a rule change.

We can no longer guess one player for every alias, which is the enforcement method that GLIP in its current form uses.
