i guess we have different definitions about the edge of death, and obviously there’s some pretty ableist politics implied by the perspective on ageing that you’re criticisng, and i certainly agree with that, but, like

i think people don’t like conceptualising their life’s lengths in terms of years, only in terms of it being long enough

moving to another country is something i think you only take if you need to and you couldn’t do it with the half-million, which is entirely reasonable and i’m not going to shame anyone for taking that as a hypotehtical boon
