what’s the difference between a genie and ?krc
Grand Idea roles dont really have the same thought/love put into them as other roles, and esp not the same amount of thought or work as an entire game, so using 1 grand idea role that had a bit of an oversight as the example sort of confuses
I try to make my Grand Idea roles good…
like obviously but thematically speaking in the difference of what you put onto the players
I didn’t think we weren’t holding Grand Idea roles to a basic standard of game design… like I try to make them good
have you SEEN the gi thread
?KRC is player design done better IMO because everybody knows there will be other roles to interact with. Genie is one wish in an otherwise mountainous game, ?KRC is role madness. And IMO good KRC design involves a lot of host work to create coherence and interaction
I just thought you all weren’t very good at game design
talitu
Or were making one-off joke roles which sucked, which Ash’s wasn’t
yea that’s most of them
I would say this depends on poster
but also this is why that new one Geyde created exists it just. Fell out of favor
are u /srs here
if i have good role ideas none of you are ever seeing them they’re going into the folder for things that will never see the light of day
I mean, even when I’m being serious, I’m not, like, actively trying to keep a role balanced or sane.
It was just a neat idea, so I threw it out there.
I thought plenty of peoplewere making roles with no concern for fun design but that these people were being annoying and anti-social and thartbe general expectation was ~decent roles
the expectation is joke roles ftr
← trying to not be insulted
no gi game onsite will realistically ever be good if it draws from either of the threads we have now
i might as well just. stay silent about roles that i think are good incase i want to run a mafia game?
I would argue the fact it is the Moderated GI Thread would imply it was intended to be runnable but people instead used it as the new Unmoderated GI Thread (that does exist it just hasnt been used in years)
