So if im getting this right, one sabotuer cannot attack N1 but the other can. Nobody is claiming responsibility for Juliette’s kill via mechanics so, we can assume they were town or dissenter.
Ill also take this opportunity to clear myself because if I were a wolf I would have held my night kill to sync up two scum kills each night instead of one. It’s less optimal mechanically but I think it’s a better strategy to scare the shit out of the town and force them to make mistakes.
Not to mention, with so much PR traffic possibly killing anyone, it would have made more sense for both wolves to have held it until N2. It also may have helped dissenter. Foolish wolves.
I don’t know why you’re telling anyone what youre ISOing for but Atlas got a non-sabotuer check on Kai. So, if Kai is in that obvious villager category, you helped get him lynched.
Gonna point out two more things because I was confused and I’m not sure if anyone else was; Dubu roleblocks their target and protects them and Atlas gave a non-sab check on Kai. It’s passive so it ignores any possible roleblock. I thought Atlas had to use his action to coroner initially.
The second thing is, I wouldn’t be surprised if Atlas was scum either but I don’t have much to go off that feeling right now. The three things bugging me are:
The roleplay language makes it easy to have cognitive dissonance and make what you’re typing out harder to interperate.
Yesterday I recall Atlas being self aware that everyone “cleared out” when they showed up in the thread.
From my point of view, Kai was an obvious mislynch so a non-sab check isn’t surprising. But I don’t like how there was more emphasis (and lament) over Juliette’s slot here. If T!Juliette is certainly a thing, it could make sense for them to be Atlas’ target and Atlas’ response could be in-thread apologies for whacking them.
It’s tinfoil but somebody has tinfoil. VOTE: Atlas
My initial reaction to SoD is Drekar is moving towards a more solid townread for me. I have seen this sort of stubbornness about mech before, in fact I’ve been the person with this sort of stubbornness about mech. I can’t recall it coming from a scum. It’s hard to fake.
It’s possible that Drekar is putting on a show here as an excuse to not fire, but I don’t see the big benefit for them as compared to just firing on a candidate who’s borderline poe town and just claiming it’s a hero shot. I don’t think anyone would be surprised if that had happened, and they could have gotten off without too much heat.
It’s also possible it’s a ploy to garner exactly this read. If it is, it’s a very well executed one, and I’m ok being fooled for now.
I feel like I’m starting to get them more the more they’re posting in the thread, and I think their thoughts have an internal consistency to them that’s checking all the right townie boxes for me.
On the mech portion however @Drekar I have been in a game before where a town vig held all game, never shooting because of numbers. It got closer to the end and they still didn’t want to. Wolves won without them ever firing. They admitted after that their primary suspect was a wolf.
I don’t know how much that experience will sway you. But speaking from a game design perspective, vig is a powerful town role. It’s about as strong to me as doc. Risking not using it usually doesn’t end well for town.
While you’re at it, what do you think of Era right now? You’re the only person I either think or know is town (which is now 5, so you know, out of 9 townies) who hasn’t said my Era read is terrible
[quote=“Ai.Mi, post:572, topic:4080”]
The long and short of it is that I think Era has been presenting themselves as something different than they are. There are two instances near the beginning of the day where I think this is especially true:
This is a perfectly nothing post, until taken within the context of Atlas’ original accusation. Atlas voted Era because they believed their early approach was “reactive”- AKA they saw Era posting emojis and not seriously solving in the first 50 posts of the game. I have no issue with Era doing that, I basically did the same thing. But I think in response to this accusation Era attempted to portray themselves as having a deeper meaning behind opening shitposts besides just opening shitposts. They say that they “don’t like the spotlight”, implying that shitposting is a deliberate strategy in this instance, and also throw out a roleplay excuse “read the report on me if you don’t believe me”.
I do not believe either of these explanations explains Era’s early shitposting, I think they were just having fun (and I expressed at the time that I didn’t understand why Atlas found that objectionable). But attempting to explain this fun as something more than it was is what originally set off alarm bells about Era. In my opinion, this is an attempt to embellish their play, and make it seem more meaningful than it actually was.
The next issue I took with their posts came in #95 and subsequent posts. They tear into Estelle in an interesting way, and seem to be building confidence for a vote there. I like this energy from them, and they follow it up with #96 with a vote on Estelle. One of their points in #95
A note on that second point, I keep being told some variation of “oh it’s already been explained”, or “it’s obvious!” And no, it’s not obvious to me. I still don’t understand how your reply to their vote invalidated their reasoning for the vote. It seems unrelated to me.
I think there’s value in getting a shot off, whether poe town or wolf. The point is not that vig will always suspect wolf, just that I’ve been in games where vig has regretted not shooting.
the lack of a kai vote was one thing but after the effortpost + response about the shot I’m fine putting you out of my poe.
As far as what you said, on the fence about era because I’m not exactly sure if theyre a just a scummy town. luna, dubu and juno are pure chaos energy 9 times out of 10 so im lost there too.
again, fmpov kai was pretty obviously town so I’m just wondering who the wolves are from that wagon. didnt help that it was fueled by directionless apathy.
That particular example I’m thinking of is funny too because it’s really applicable to this situation, more so than I’ve described, and it’d be perfect to link it and talk about it. But we’re anonymous, RIP
