Still think we vote in the four I mentioned earlier. Era, Ai.mi, Dubu, Juliette because (despite it being like 1/3rd of the lobby) I’m confident it contains scum.

If not because they have scum equity, for the fact that everyone else is townier by a decent margin. I wouldnt be surprised if the dissenter wasn’t in that group though because the dissenter is likely somebody scumhunting alongside town.

I know I prolly am missing your key reasons as to why I am in your sus pool, but is it more that I am not as townier as the others or is there specifically from me that you feel is scummy?

Also @Rune, seeing as how Kai is the current wagon with only one of your sus pool members on there, how does that make you feel about Kai’s alignment and the other players voting him?

I hope you forgive these misgiving, the reads I had on Atlas/Drek’ar up to that were both not confident at all, and secondly were reads that I expected to change in the future.

I guess the thing is, is that I felt you didn’t really give much of a read if that makes sense. Don’t apologize for giving reads or providing content as it is always plus EV and free information in the thread. But I had an issue with more of your initial commentary in the game without really elaborating on your stance or how you felt about them specifically. Just curious, when you normally make reads early on, how often do you actually “feel good about them.”

Second thing I noticed is based off your apology to me and how you addressed me here, you had me as one of your top towns. Up to this point, you had not really mentioned or discussed about me. Why was that and why did you only bring up the tr in response to me? In one whole summary, what was the thing you liked from me the most that you tr up till that point?

To clarify, it is implicitly assumed that I was accusing them of having too much information because of how easily they gave a read on Atlas. I did not change the goal posts, maybe I didn’t explain myself clearly, but I believed

1. Atlas hasn’t said anything up to that point to warrant a town read. I stated in my own post that Atlas’s posts felt as though they were easier to make because they are roleplaying.
2. Their read sounds “good” but wasn’t actually good.
3. Scum are more likely to make early reads on people using their TMI in order to strengthen their position in the thread early on. Giving a take like that with the context of this thread actually enforces this belief.

I am confident in my ability to find mafia and town by watching how people react to my pushes. Era mentioned earlier that I sounded like I was hyping myself up on purpose, when the reason I was started to get into this game was because of me starting to push this player.

To answer your question as to whether or not I put much stock into early reads being scum, I’m not convinced they are scum or not. I will figure out whether they are later on.

Ok, this overview explanation does make a bit more sense and based on your initial agreement with Dre’kar, I could see point 1 and 2. The main thing is I felt that you hadn’t really expressed point 3 as much. When Luna gave their explanation behind the why of the read, it seemed like you put it aside and then brought up how it doesn’t matter because mafia are more pressured to give a town read that early. But if it’s more of a misclarification and not discussing it despite having that thought, it does make a bit more sense with your initial sr on Luna and your reaction to their explanation.

And I suppose part of my question was answered earlier when you state you like to put stuff out there to get reactions from others. And the last part seems to somewhat align with your overview thought process into the game from the earlier quotes so that’s at least consistent.

I just wanted to put this out there, because now I do feel better about Luna being town after reading this specific post.

The nuance in discussing the different scenarios of how Estelle read them mixed with analyzing Estelle’s minute actions such as the “townie self-awareness” or Luna’s read that it could be “townie stubbornness” or townie entitlement. I think in the world where Estelle is town, this is a very fluid and thoughtful response from Luna in evaluating Estelle’s actions toward them in a way that doesn’t come off as TMI.

Also, the empathizing with Estelle’s playstyle and how that isn’t wolfy for them based on that possibility is a good pay attention to detail.

I feel like ur more of the shy type Luna, but please speak your mind and be more out there!! Posts like these are very good and your insight will also help me further develop my reads as I am currently catching up!

I think that Era town-locking Atlas in #145 was opportunistic and out of place. The game began a little under 3 hours ago and Atlas presented reasoning as to why Estelle could be scum. Instead of discussing it, Era just jumps to a town-lock and sheeps the vote with nothing to add.

Yes, I agree that Atlas is pretty towny but not because he made a push.

This prompted me to double check what happened to Era’s probing into Estelle, and it dissolved simply because of a misunderstanding of whom Estelle was talking about?

That’s two strikes against Era for superficial takes that really shouldn’t have happened had they been reading more closely. I retract my previous GTH. GTH Era is a saboteur

Just wanted to note that these 2 posts back to back followed with Drek’ar’s previous statement to me of feeling Era was slightly competitor and then shifting to this after Rune is very likely not Sabouter/Sabouter. A read that prolly doesn’t mean much early on, but it’s good to include it to reference later. With the way Rune came in and voted Era and then followed by Drek’ar is unlikely to come from two partners, because they would be more aware of their pushes and who they push so that they don’t push together at the same time, especially when Drek’ar had felt differently about Era not too long ago.

i thought ai.mi early pop in was pretty struggly. i have v little time so not gonna go find it but it’s the one where they complained about the roleplay

and their modus operandi of wolfy pop ins–> huge wall–> wolfy pop ins seems >rand wolf (though i admit i havent read their walls so i owe that to them at least)

Ok, when I re-read this interaction, I actually got some townie pings from Drek’ar and felt some townie entitlement in the way they conversated with Era. The indignation they speak to Era and how they feel like Era was not fully reading their posts and how it upset them is townie on the surface level.

But also on the flipside, I can see why Dre’kar had issues with Era’s response since Derk’ar actually never really fully scum read Era and more so mentioned that he would keep an eye out. Yet, it seemed like Era interpreted that as a scum push and responded as such. However, it was stated from Dre’kar how he felt and Era not seeing that and responding in a way that didn’t come off as reading what he wrote is something that I can see from why Dre’kar suspects Era.

So the way Dre’kar is frustrated with Era here seems to come from more of a townie mindset and now I think this is townie indicative for Dre’kar with their entitlement of not having their posts properly read.

Now, in terms of misinterpreting or missing on certain things isn’t necessarily wolfy but I can see that issue that some may have with Era and why they have scummy feelings towards Era. However, with some of Era’s responses, I can see how they may have felt like Drek’ar was scum reading due to the pressure and responded as such, but I can’t tell if it’s wolfy or if it is a townie misreading stuff. A part of me still feels the latter especially considering how I liked their insight on Atlas as well as their nuanced thoughts on Era/Luna that I was melding with at the time.

Still somewhat early and feel a bit better about Estelle. Somewhat shocked that AI doesn’t have a single vote despite some suspicion there.
