@Hippopablompoyeetus sorry if i was too stern, i hope that i wasnt. fmpov i was just being literal. ideally there are questions and accusations and defense and responses, but i didn’t find tangible things for me to defend myself from your push, like for example zug quoting instances from past games and asking me “why?” questions. fmpov your push was “my gut says tutuu mafia” → “everyone listen to me, my gut says tutuu mafia, kill tutuu” → the only adequate response to that that “speaks the same language” was “stop listening to your gut, then”, at least fmpov

ideally i just explicitly say that in future instances when im scumread due to gut. to clear up miscommunications, and it would be more comfortable. that was my intention. “can you explain why do you think im mafia” “idk just gut” “okay well id like to ask of you to stop listening to your gut, i dont have anything else to respond to”. that would be preferrable

I don’t quite agree with this post, despite having said something similar earlier: the thing I find villagery is specifically the complete lack of attempt to sound villagery in those posts. Drawing attention is not generally disadvantageous as a wolf if that attention goes to townreading you (to a point, as my singular wolfgame on this site illustrated). sulit, however, gave us nothing.

Yeah, the read wasn’t based on sulit as an individual and more what I would do if I was a wolf in sulit’s position there.

Zugzwang my gut thought he was being performative when he started catching up but then he kept doing that more extremely and it kinda won me over. I think his like extreme extreme eagerness at the start is probably villager. for example looking at past games for meta vibes after like 5 posts from the slots in question, even though I disagree with this, AND even tho its like totally easy to fake, I just feel like it is a decent look because wow lol, respect. . tryhard levels that I can’t imagine myself doing are usually town. Also he had a post that was like “tutu are u still here? Are u gonna respond? Please signal to me if you’re going to respond I’m so eager to know” that was like one of the more villagery posts I’ve seen in recent memory

Yeah I agree completely with this, Zugz’ opening was towny to me and his solving felt genuine.

Specifically that WindwardAway is calling other people out for being incorrect: she does not accept things just because people say them, and she is willing to challenge people in a way that forces a person to develop the ability to argue coherently. A WindwardAway who is constantly rereading and nervously correcting her own posts would be a bit of a shrinking violet. The fact that people have stated that she is an experienced player, enough to vote her before she even shows up, also contributes to this impression.

I find Windy to be a person who does think a lot about how their posts come across as town or wolf and spends time crafting them, however, genuinely when their town their posts tend to exude towniness while as a wolf they feel pretty neutral? It’s mainly a vibe thing tbh

I think tutuu’s responses to hippo were probably town. I dont really feel like finding a super good way to describe it clearly, if I had to try it’s almost like TWTBAW?? but idk lol. like he went very strong on hippo, didnt really address others who might be poking at him, didnt really try to move past it by creating some super towny solving moment. it didnt seem like a tactical self-defense.

I think rhea seems like the sort of player who’s generally nearly impossible for me to read and it’s going to frustrate me lmoa., there were some good threads of continuity in the catch-up that were lean town tho but yea idk

It exuded a lot of frustration the whole “don’t be a hero” thing. But I feel in isolation that could come as either alignment tbh.

I did have a feeling though that it felt like an attempt to discredit the read than actually counter it?
