He’ll arrest Obama as an official presidential act, and then preemptively pardon himself for it just in case it’s a crime. Pardoning yourself as president will already have been ruled constitutional by the SCOTUS in a 9-0 decision.
Season finale
so turns out they never released the poll results publicly, BUT that it was done and that data seems to be true. hard to tell how reliable it is since the methodology was never made public.

We all need to come together and blame who’s really at fault: the libs (keynesian).

i dont think its sensible to just be like “oh why didnt you just vote for the lesser evil, duh, are you stupid?”. when you are given the options to vote for someone who is to you honest fascist #1 and someone who is to you dishonest fascist #2. i think its incorrect to say that you would have easily made the choice, no-brainer, because the people being killed there arent that closely related to you. all of us have basic respect for each other as fellow humans. you have that towards palestinians, so do i. but people feel more empathy to people who belong more in their groups. you really care about women and queer people in the US because you have a lot of friends who belong in that demographic and you dont want them to die or suffer. similarly a lot of muslim americans feel similar kinship towards people in palestine. i dont think its so easy to just say that what they should have done is obvious and easy, even if trump has been more vocally hostile about palestine. to make a comparison, donald trump would have to start actively genociding your queer friends, and then he kills Amelia. and then another candidate pops up that also starts actively genociding your queer friends, and she kills Wazza, but she also kills other people less, and then you need to in good conscience go and vote for the person who killed your friend Wazza. if you dont, you face backlash from the people supporting that cause by getting called stupid or names or stuff at best. at worst, your so-called allies start spouting toxicity at you (i read so many gross comments from liberals cheering on about trump leveling gaza, “trump will turn gaza into a parking lot. congratulations, fucking morons”. “you deserve what you get” etc etc. i really dont think it is that easy of a task / decision when you are put in those peoples shoes, and we aren’t in their shoes
was not expecting tutuu to become a political analyst
I would say the argument is missing perspective.
American politics aren’t about voting the “good guy” and those largely do not exist in leadership. The more I get through my history degree the more I grow aware to the fact that no government structure will be led by some glorious leader we all love. If you do feel that way, the guy is probably one of the most evil leaders ever.
The vote last night was about rules, standards, the American constitution. We had two options, and that’s it. One of them is a rapist, pedophile, 34 count felon, who said he would not only destroy key aspects of the constitution, but that he would not follow law and order. I do not care how much you dislike Kamala, or think she is boring and wont fix the problems. This election was about THE STANDARD you held your country to. By voting outside of Harris you are admitting to the country that we are this, what Trump is, is what this entire country believes the standard is. We have now let every politician hear these words “You can commit crime, overthrow the government, demonize immigrants, call LGBTQ mental patients, and we will let you win the election through a landslide.”
Also, I do not care if you are muslim, european, asian, or whatever the fuck. You are American when voting in this election, and the constitution means something to every citizen here. Allowing a president to be elected who not only goes against that constitution, but despises the existence of it. If you ask me, the citizens have a responsibility to stand up for that constitution. We have to fight for it, those human rights we have are not god given, they are upheld through blood, sweat, and tears. I am disgraced at the idea that Americans are going to let one man destroy everything this country should hold dear, and then choose to blame democrat politicians for the choice they made.
p.s. I have even more to fight for now. Before this election I wasn’t aware to how many people in this country thought so differently to me. I am worried that those people will not understand what they have just done. I’m going to do anything and everything in my power to uphold the human rights and equality we have, and try to limit the destruction Trump has on our entire society.
I really just think if they had just run not Biden 2.0 and gone center right, they would have won. Why pick Walz if you don’t have him say any of the shit he’s popular for? 2022 was a bunch of dems that won that explicitly distanced themselves from Biden. If you’re going to do this strategy of interventionism, pick fucking Shapiro for fuck’s sake who would help you carry PA. Incoherent strategy, and a return to 2016 center right bullshit that lost us that election.
Part of their understanding was that they wanted to repeat Biden’s election results. Even if we both agree it was flawed. Not only because Biden was much less popular, but yeah the strategy sucks. Although from their perspective the Biden platform is great. Our Economy is doing insanely well and we were the global leader in rebounding from the pandemic and its global strain on the economy.
Again though, I just personally have the desire that people put the constitution, law&order, and unity above whatever we did last night
Whitmer won MI by like 10 points. Shapiro won PA by like 10 points. Aspire to do more than barely win those states by 5 figures, and less than 1 percent. They wanted to repeat the Biden victory realistically and he barely won in the swing states. Biden became deeply unpopular. Why run on the unpopular shit? Why not run on the popular shit? Why was this hard? Why was this not obvious?
I mean it’s obvious why they thought this. Popular in a state is not necessarily popular on a grand scale in the country. This is something that Dems have been focusing on for a while. They worry about specific policies pushing away groups, and so instead of committing to a policy platform they want to hedge between the sides. Israel and Palestine is a great example of that. Although Trump has now proven twice that empowering your base with insane rhetoric is how you win. The groups who disagree will still vote with you anyways
oh so now you believe in big gretch
Yeah, but they needed to win the rust belt. And it looks like the platform they ran on was deeply unpopular pretty much everywhere.
yeah it turns out nobody getting what they want = bad policy platform
I will act like I knew this the whole time, even though my logs are me coping that the hedge strategy would work
I think Whitmer is awesome and always have.
i know but iirc you were like “nah bro, no big gretch, its gotta be kamala harris” back before it was officially her
