This post doesn’t quite thoroughly address the possibility of w!Zugzwang and t!Garfooled, but I feel like that inconsistency is towny. Wolves tend to more thoroughly think through what they are saying, rather than basing it on instinct.

I’m a bit curious at the wording here. Exceptional? How come posts that you find NAI are exceptional? To me that is the opposite of exceptional, at least the way I use and understand that word

Openers are generally some of the easier posts to derive a read from, as they require a player pick a particular focus and enter thread before they have had a chance to naturally converse and fit in with others. I found some kind of read from every other opener in the game. Jail also engaged with Zugzwang’s reads early on, which is another place I find it easy to search for alignment information. I found it odd that jail’s posts felt so difficult to get an understanding of.

I think this is town jail. I don’t think I’ve seen him wolf though so be cautious about sheeping this. Town jail is like … sitting there chilling like a good puppy but if someone pokes him he reveals razor sharp teeth and he starts biting and doesn’t let go

I do not use other players’ meta in my own reads, but I agree that jail’s response to being suspected has not actively made me want to further pursue him as a vote at this time. I flip back and forth on whether I find it towny, but I certainly do not actively find it wolfy.

If Jail is mafia, would he be brazen enough to openly say “I am being scumread for the wrong reasons?” (a thought that a lot of wolves do have which frustrates them)

I’m inclined to say no, I think it’s more likely he’s town and his explanation happened to coincide with what would be openwolfing if it were to come from a wolf, but he paid no attention to that since he (supposedly) isn’t a wolf, so the openwolfing aspect didn’t even cross his mind (if he is town there)

I would be surprised if he wouldn’t notice this as wolf. So it’s either town or quite brazen (dare I say openwolfing) wolf. I think town more likely

I like that pandora is clearly keeping previous posts in her mind and pondering what they meant in the background. It was confused about a post, and this weighed on it. Wolves are usually more careless. When I am caught up, I will check exactly which post it is that pandora was confused on.

I’ve done it as town; I haven’t done it as wolf but I don’t think I’d be opposed to it. Last town game - Paradox Hazard - I did it but I didn’t share it because I wasn’t confident. Then I died and went in spec chat and saw it was all correct. So that inspired me to give it a shot again. The reason why I stopped in the first place was because I had a game where I had a very wrong sheet. I used to do it every game, and I happened to rand town in all of those games

Looking at the post in question, I do not think it is that towny to have been confused by it enough to remember it later. The “28 possibilities remain” piece that was referenced is a purely mathematical question, not something that would actually help read Magnus. I still townlean pandora, but this particular interaction is not actively town indicative.

I don’t think that whether you and Garfooled have partner equity is material enough right now to be worth extensively pursuing, especially given Garfooled is a top wagon. I can see the perspective the post comes from, and I don’t necessarily disagree, but I don’t find it actively convincing enough to make it more worth suspecting either you or Garfooled independently.

The individual posts were not sufficient to move the needle to a townlean over a high null, at least not above jail and pandora. My read list is ordered, so Garfooled being above Someone and bystander is meaningful. (On that note, I should have probably placed you, Zugzwang, below jail and perhaps even below pandora. Your current placement is due largely to inertia.)

Not particularly. I generally do not find self-defense does much for me, as players have the same motives to defend themselves as town or as wolf.

Keep in mind that I was also reading this as I was catching up, so I read your response only shortly after reading Magnus’s original post. I thought about the post and its response as a whole, and I did not have much time to develop an opinion before I saw you respond.
