Yeah, but they needed to win the rust belt. And it looks like the platform they ran on was deeply unpopular pretty much everywhere.
yeah it turns out nobody getting what they want = bad policy platform
I will act like I knew this the whole time, even though my logs are me coping that the hedge strategy would work
I think Whitmer is awesome and always have.
i know but iirc you were like “nah bro, no big gretch, its gotta be kamala harris” back before it was officially her
Best thing about the election is that numbers come out and prove who was right and wrong. I thought Dems would still show up.
I hoped it would work. I wanted to be wrong. I didn’t think her campaign was good before we started seeing results though.
If they didn’t give it to Kamala who was the presumptive second choice, it could have had fairly negative consequences. I didn’t want her to be the nominee, I would have greatly preferred Whitmer, but I was concerned that the path to making Whitmer the nominee would be a shitshow.
I’m starting to wonder if Dems need to just start lying to different groups. Trump was not punished for just promising different groups different things. Like the voters have encouraged this behavior now. So why not I guess
At some point you just have to win elections
Dems won other races in many states that Harris lost. There’s zero reason to think that it wasn’t just a bad electoral strategy that cost her.
once biden ran for reelection it was over
i love big gretch. i told my mom i wanted big gretch and got her to agree with me
no one but harris makes sense as a replacement candidate if biden running is already established. he had to just. not run.
unfortunately the dems are never gonna run a woman again
nah, 2028 they gonna run an extremely moderate woman whos VP is a older greying white guy with a warm smile
they’re going to take away all the wrong lessons. they were too woke/pro-trans (wrong, beshear is immensely popular and vocally pro-trans), they weren’t far enough to the right (they are ignoring all the dems and ballot incentives that succeeded that were to the left of them), it was the third party voters (literally didn’t make a difference anywhere it mattered), we need to be more fascist
etc. etc.
I’ve had friends tell me, guess the Dems need to be more centrist now.
Like am I living in a different universe or some shit
As far as I can tell, the dems who were to the left of center right won by larger margins. Why would the takeaway there be more centrism?
ive also heard that another reason for people not voting or voting third party was their dislike for the leftist voterbase, not even the politicians. (heard as in, personally been told). the word condescension i saw thrown around the most
this is pure fiction lmao
unless by “leftist” you mean liberal dem in which case that’s less absurd? but actual leftists in the US are a minority
